WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme

The WorkAbility Programme supports people of all ages with disabilities. WorkAbility aims to prepare individuals to access education, training or employment based on their interests, skills and goals.

Participants will be supported to access employment opportunities and supported work experience and volunteer placements.

Ballyhoura Development will be delivering the WorkAbility Programme over four years from 2024 – 2028.

This programme will provide participants with tailored supports, training and mentoring in the areas of:

  • Building confidence and self-awareness
  • Career guidance & personal action planning
  • One-to-one support from programme facilitators
  • Employability-related workshops
  • CV, job searching, and interview skills
  • Supported employment and volunteer placements
  • Informative talks
  • Field trips

WorkAbility Programme Objective

The WorkAbility Programme encourages and supports individuals to take on meaningful social roles through employment or voluntary positions in their community. It provides tools and supports needed by participants to become more engaged and active within their community at a local, regional or national level.

The programme will work with employers in the region to support people with a disability in the workplace, help create a more inclusive workforce and open up opportunities for individuals with a disability.
