Bill Power is the author of seventeen books on Irish history, his most recent publications being 'The Blackwater, History and Images from the Irish Rhine,' (2023) and 'Vagabonds, Villains and Troublemakers' (2025). His specialised subjects include the landed estates around Mitchelstown and Fermoy; famine, poverty and crime in North Cork in the 19th century. He has a Master of Arts Degree in history from University College Cork. Bill is the founding chairman of Saint George's Arts and Heritage Centre.
