Libraries are invaluable and accessible resources within local communities, offering a safe environment to enhance literacy skills. They provide easy access to reading materials, public computers, the internet, and professional support from library staff.
The Libraries for Literacy project, funded by Solas through the Collaboration and Innovation Fund, is a collaboration between Ballyhoura Development, Cork Education and Training Board, Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, Cork Libraries, Limerick Libraries, Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), and Fighting Words. This new initiative shines a spotlight on how libraries are essential in empowering communities and improving literacy across the region.
Empower Adults: Develop literacy skills, gain confidence, and achieve their personal and professional goals.
