Ballyhoura Development is pleased to invite local employers, business owners, community organisations, and service providers to a free Disability Equality and Inclusion Training Workshop taking place in Mitchelstown & Kilmallock.

Funded under the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme, this interactive session aims to build awareness, confidence, and practical understanding around disability inclusion and equality in the workplace.

About the Workshop

Delivered by the Disability Federation of Ireland, this highly participatory workshop has been co-created with individuals who have lived experience of disability and is facilitated by qualified trainers.

Participants will gain a deeper insight into inclusive practice and explore how to create accessible and welcoming environments for employees, customers, and community members.

Key topics covered will include:

  • Understanding Disability

  • Legal and Ethical Responsibilities

  • Effective Communication

  • Reasonable Adjustments

  • Accessibility

  • Challenging Stereotypes and Biases

  • Practical & Inclusive Practices

  • Financial Supports available to employers under DSP Work and Access Programme

The session will encourage reflection and discussion, providing participants with tools and strategies that can be implemented within their own organisations.
