The Ireland–Canada Homecoming 2025 – 200th Anniversary of the Peter Robinson Settlers In September 2025, communities across the Ballyhoura region came together to honour the 200th Anniversary of the Peter Robinson Settlers — over 2,000 Irish men, women, and children who emigrated from Cork and Limerick to Canada in 1823 & 1825 under the Peter Robinson Assisted Emigration Scheme. This special Ireland–Canada Homecoming celebrated those enduring ties between Ireland and Canada, welcoming home 190 descendants from across Canada and the US for a week of remembrance, heritage, music, and community connection. Filmed across the commemoration week, the event brought history to life through storytelling, music, and shared experiences — rekindling bonds that have lasted two centuries.
