Helping People Feel More Confident with Everyday Technology

Digital Literacy for Everyday Life is a community-based initiative designed to support people to build confidence using everyday technology in a practical, friendly and supportive way.

Many daily tasks now happen online - from accessing services and booking appointments to staying in touch with family and friends. This project helps people develop the confidence and skills needed to navigate the digital world at their own pace.

How we can help

We can support you with:

  • Using your phone, tablet or laptop
  • Accessing online services such as MyGovID, banking and appointments
  • Sending emails and messages
  • Filling out forms online
  • Staying connected with family and friends
  • Building confidence with everyday digital tasks

Support is available through:

  • One-to-one support
  • Small informal groups
  • Community drop-in sessions

There is no pressure, no exams, and no previous experience needed.

Who is this for?

This project is for anyone who:

  • Feels unsure or lacking confidence with technology
  • Has never taken part in a digital course before
  • Finds online tasks difficult or frustrating
  • Would like support in a relaxed and friendly environment

We are particularly keen to support people who may not usually access training or courses.

How it works

Instead of expecting people to sign up to a course straight away, this project takes a different approach.

We begin with conversation, practical support and building confidence first.

From there, if you wish, we can support you to:

  • Join a short digital skills course
  • Take the next step into further learning
  • Use your new skills in everyday life

Delivery takes place across the Ballyhoura region, including:

  • Charleville
  • Mitchelstown
  • Other community locations across North Cork
